Jill Scott in an ESSENCE interview admitted to a “twinge” when her successful black male friends reveal that they are involved with white women. Facebook and twitter were both busy as Love Zone listeners piped up on whether or not interracial dating matters to them.

Dwoyne – It doesn’t bother me one little bit. You should live by your own standards and not what other people think or say. At the end of the day if you’re happy with yourself and the person you are with that’s all that matters.
Damon – what’s funny is that I work retail and I see couples come in all the time and I see sistahs with white guys and they would be HOT and controlling. OR I see the brothas with the white girls and the white girls would be trying to be “black”. It’s funny.
Tanya – My nephew is bi-racial & the only issue that I had was hearing his mother call him the “n word”… Love who u love, color shouldn’t stand in the way but there has 2 be some respect within that relationship for the cultural & social issues that can arise when u date inter-racially… As a blk woman I’ve been out with white men & gotten the snickers etc… U can’t base ur life on others ignorance
Jon – I don’t have a problem. One chooses to date the person, not the race. Life’s too short. It’s when people decide to exclusively date outside their race out of spite is when I have a problem with it.
Tony – Not at all. I have African, Italian and Native American blood running through these veins and im proud of it. It’s taught me that love has no color or boundaries. Whoever makes you smile the longest wins. Black, white or other.
Tyrell – That’s a very interesting question. I’ve spent most of my life (im only 25) being attracted to Black women.. and I’m continuing to date them now. But im starting to feel like I’m being very close minded at the moment because really none of my relationships work out.. so it may just be me. But im seriously thinking of dating outside my race.
Kesharra – The interracial dating doesn’t get under my skin, but I admit that it gets frustrating seeing blk men marry a white woman over and over again. It’s like they no longer except a blk woman… They just weed us all out like we no longer count and a white woman is, in a sense, better than a blk woman!
Jennifer – I have heard tons about why the black men don’t wanna date black women but just like everything they say may not be true of every black woman neither is everything ya hear true about white women. I think some of the stereotypes just need to be broken down and they will with time.
Kimberly – I don’t care with a black man is with a white woman. That’s them and what they like. As long as she a good looking woman and not ugly. Lol! But seriously I talked to a white guy and we became the bestest of friends. But to each its own.
Latoya – No but @ times it makes me wonder what does she have over me
