Looks like Cardi B is headed back to court and this time it’s over that viral microphone sling during her 2023 show at Drai’s Beachclub in Las Vegas.

A woman known as “Jane Doe” has filed a lawsuit claiming she was injured when Cardi launched the mic into the crowd after being splashed with a drink mid-performance. According to reports, Cardi had allegedly told the crowd to “splash” her to help cool off in the Vegas heat while she was on stage. However, when water actually hit her near her face, she snapped – chucking the mic into the audience and striking a woman on her shoulder. Jane Doe claims all she did was follow Cardi’s instructions and had no idea she’d end up hurt and humiliated. She’s suing for assault, battery, negligence and emotional distress.

This isn’t Cardi’s first mic-throwing moment at Drai’s either. Just one day earlier, she reportedly tossed a microphone at a DJ during a separate show at the same venue. Jane Doe’s team is now claiming the club should’ve taken steps to prevent something like this from happening again.

Cardi didn’t face any criminal charges for the 2023 incident, as Las Vegas police dropped the case citing insufficient evidence. But this new civil lawsuit is pushing for damages, especially after the infamous mic was auctioned off for nearly $100,000. Cardi’s legal team is calling the lawsuit a “pitiful” financial shakedown.
