Our favorite uncle, Snoop Dogg, revealed Thursday (June 4) that he has never voted in an election before. He says it’s something that he plans on changing in this year’s election.

Snoop had thought that his criminal record prevented him from participating in elections. He was convicted of two felonies; one in 1990 and one in 2007. With his record expunged, he expects to head to the polls this year. In fact, he feels that this election is unbelievably important.

“I ain’t never voted a day in my life, but this year I think I’m going to get out and vote because I can’t stand to see this punk in office one more year,” he said.

When discussing the misconception that he was void of the right to vote after his felony convictions, Snoop said this:

“For many years they had me brainwashed thinking that you couldn’t vote because you had a criminal record. I didn’t know that. My record’s been expunged so now I can vote.” Snoop hopes that his decision to get out to the polls influences others to do the same. “We got to make a difference, I can’t talk about it and not be about it,” he shared. “I can’t tell you to do it and then not go do it. If I tell you to do something, I done it already.”

Election day is still scheduled for Tuesday November 3rd, 2020. As we continue to battle a world-wide pandemic, it’s expected that there will be multiple methods of casting your vote. No matter how we get it done, it has to get done. Contrary to popular belief, your vote does matter. Be sure that your voice is heard at the polls this year.
