For years, residents of Baltimore have been complaining about the Recreation Centers being closed, leaving the youth with nothing to do and nowhere to go. Many have said that is a reason why the youth has turned to violence in the streets. Well once again, it seems that the cries of the city have not gone unheard.

Mayor Brandon Scott announced that he will use $41 million of American Rescue Plan Act funds to go towards rec centers and more for the community. According to Mayor Scott, $10 million will go toward public pools, $20 million toward recreation centers, $5 million toward playgrounds, $1 million toward trails, and $2 million toward athletic fields and courts.
