I’m not the relationship goals type of person. Pictures and videos can certainly lie and even if images reveal a happy couple, it’s no telling the work that they put in to keep those smiles. However, I have been grateful for the GQ feature on Saweetie and Quavo. It’s just good energy.
The young couple recants the early moments of their relationship. Saweetie tells GQ that she always had a thing for Quavo. “He’s always been fine to me. In a group chat [with friends], I would screenshot his picture and be like, ‘Damn, this n**** is fine.’” Quavo felt the same about Saweetie who was on the come up at the time. He caught a glimpse of the young beauty on his explore page and decided that he had to shoot his shot. “I seen her on my Explore page,” Quavo shared with GQ. “I was like, ‘Damn! Who is this?’ So I did my research and I DM her. I was like, ‘How she going to call herself icy and she don’t talk to me?’ So I slid in her DM,” he adds. “I told her, ‘You an icy girl, you need a glacier boy.’”
I’ve got to step my DM game up. “Glacier Boy” is classic.
Entertainment is an industry that we’ve got to pick and choose what we value. Well, it’s safer to do that. It’s always dangerous to idolize superstar relationships but either way, these smiles promote the good vibes that relationships can provide. Big shout out to GQ, Saweetie, and Quavo for coming together in the name of love. Hopefully the vibe is the same when the cameras go off.
