Monday (June 1), President Trump shocked the world when he suggested that the U.S military would be used to disperse protests.

The ordeal unfolded just steps away from the White House. Protesters performing demonstrations in Lafayette Square Park (D.C) were dispersed by authorities using tear gas and rubber bullets. The military-style enforcement cleared the crowd quickly so that Mr. Trump could pose for a photo in front of a historic church.

Those military-style tactics were because it was the military.

They were called in to clear out the crowd and Trump warns that he will use the “Insurrection Act of 1807” to enable the military against crowds. CNN detailed the “Insurrection Act” during their broadcast Monday.

Seeing protesters go toe-to-toe with the military, who is sworn to protect this country, is certainly chilling to witness and borderline unbelievable. He claims that his efforts are to protect the well-being of the country and it’s citizens from “professional anarchists, violent mobs … arsonists, looters, criminals, rider rioters, Antifa and others.”

“I will fight to protect you. I am your President of law and order and an ally of all peaceful protesters,” Trump stated.

Reuters shared the chilling moments between protesters and the military.

Warning: the footage is graphic.
