Longtime NBC news anchor Matt Lauer has been fired after sexual misconduct reported by a colleague. NBC News Chairman Andrew Lack released a statement and said that the complaint against Matt Lauer was a “clear violation of our company’s standards.” Although this was the first complaint about Lauer since he took over as news anchor in 1997 Lack said there was “reason to believe” it may not have been an isolated incident. Andrew Lack also added  “Our highest priority is to create a workplace environment where everyone feels safe and protected, and to ensure that any actions that run counter to our core values are met with consequences, no matter who the offender.”

The news was reported Wednesday morning on NBC if you missed it here you go!
