Dre’s #breakfastbite.. City school officials say the system is in a 21 million deficit and could mean layoffs and de-funding of major contracts. What are your thoughts? #92qjams #baltimore #MARYLAND #bmore #wednesday

Amanda Wolford Ok so we know just in March alone. Maryland live brought in 61m $$ where is all that money going?? Its ridiculous the way the treating these kids. Get it together and treat them like they are our future!!

Toiya Tko Best Once you get the crooked ass mayor and her staff outta there then maybe some stuff can get straightened out.

Patricia Ma Ma Johnson Is Mayland live only supporting AA county? Because i thought the casinos was intended for for funding schools but then thats what the lottery and the 2 new stadiums was for back in the day. City schools have always gottn the end of the stick and our kids suffer….

Billy Simms same thing happened in 2002, cost me my job, I’m wiser now, I know how big business operates, everyone at the top got a piece of that 22mil

Billy Simms they pumped our kids to get the casino votes, politics as usual

Eryn Brown Working in the school system all I can for is smh!!

Sean Gilliam What happened to the money the casinos were suppose to be giving I thought that’s what we voted for Maryland live made 78 million last month

Red Butterfly ‏@TaheeraAbdullah @DreJohnson1 its not fair to our children. Next thing will be they have to close more schools

larri alston ‏@larrialston @DreJohnson1 Seems backwards cause officials aren’t concerned with children whom can’t vote but their lives r being negatively aff View conversation R

Kenny Wilkes ‏@BigKennyWilkes @DreJohnson1 they don’t care about us or our children. There is always money for police and building new jails. You do the math!!!

Cornelius Harrison ‏@Nibby2 @DreJohnson1 I think it is a shame that schools have to do more with less. This issue needs to be fixed ASAP…the children are our future!

Harold Jenkins ‏@HAJ3RD GM @DreJohnson1 it’s almost like it’s setupforourkidsto fail, but it’s in gods plan for kids to shine, and you can’t stop the sun from shining

Kenny Wilkes ‏@BigKennyWilkes @DreJohnson1 Bmore citizens have been sleeping at the wheel for to long. Its past time for most elected officials to go.

drejohnson1 Makes no sense…

wiz_otis  Take the money from that movie tax break that they giving Hollywood 2 make tv shows & movies here & give it to the kids its 28million

tru3_ston3r@drejohnson1 here we go with that bull-ish smh this city is a joke

a1tyesha  Where’s all the casino money, they had the best month in March.. last I checked Maryland school was first to get rewarded…

phyniteent  Heads should roll from the top# No excuse the city officials and council members need to raise up for their constituents future

grandman1126  Hmmmmmm…. Where are those MILLIONS of dollars they wanna give up for them LAPTOPS?!?!?!? SMH…

ur_kryptonite7  It’s sad to say that we don’t support our school system with the money they need to give our kids the academic support they need. The.school system tries to make the budget they have do more than it can and we end up here. More funding from residence, city,.state, and feds

modemkilla #Legalize That Grass @drejohnson1

longjon__ As an educator in Baltimore City, this news is demoralizing! We owe our kids more…

grandman1126@ur_kryptonite7  I’M with YOU!

crys0225  Fire everybody that had anything to do with allocating the funds & start from scratch. Can’t keep playing with a snake & act surprised when you get bit.

doggish1zprez  What happened to the lottery money ?

ronijthawriter^^^

itsjustabrandnewkindame They just reported revenue from the casinos totaling $78 million in and the money “promised” to the school systems apparently is not being used for that purpose! Way to go Maryland! Just as the revenue from the lottery was not used for it’s intended purpose I assume this money won’t either..nothing but lies as usual!

bishopmeb2 The School system needs to hire business minded leadership who can govern the organization like a business not like a charity. They need to focus on fund raising, down sizing unnecessary staff, increase the pay for teachers and embrace technological enhancements to better education. There is money out there so go get it.

rwells1984 Smh makes no since

forever_a_lovely_cancer@drejohnson1 I have been teaching in the system for 13 years and nothing has gotten better. Why are we in a deficit? They are not giving the money to the employees and they are not fixing any schools, so again we are in a deficit because the “BIG” people are misusing the funds. We are always promised money, but NEVER get it!

thechef613 Legalize weed. That would easily pay for it
