Words aren’t just words anymore, I guess. People take what you say in your rhymes to heart! At least Ma$e did! Note to self (and JCole) …don’t rap about Ma$e and think he’s too “churchy” to take a shot right back!
Ma$e spills the tea:
Pastor Mase says it must be a generational thing. “That’s a different generation,” he admitted. “In our generation you said something on a record, we see you, it’s action. But when I saw him I was thinking, ‘Oh, he’s just a kid… he don’t get it.'”
Cole, he said, must have underestimated that Murda Mase is still alive and spittin’. “…It’s like, ‘I need something to rhyme with ‘ace,'” Cole must have been thinking. “‘Let me think, ‘Mase’ would be good, he can’t do nothing, he goes to church.'”
But he also goes to the booth, M-A-dollar reminds us. He is currently recording his next LP, Now We Even, which he says is really “personal.” He also hinted that there might be a Harlem revival with his long-time friends of The Diplomats. “I did speak to Jim [Jones], we supposed to be working together, and me and Cam gonna work together at some point.”
