Beyoncé received rave reviews with her stellar performance of The Star-Spangled Banner at yesterday’s Inauguration 201 3.  However, scandal arose when supposed military personnel released a statement that they were instructed to record Beyoncé’s performance the previous night and play the recording at the live ceremony.

“All music is pre-recorded for the ceremony because there are so many eventualities and conditions that day,” Kristin DuBois, a rep for the United States Marine Corp., told Page Six. “We performed, live, the band. But we received last-minute word that Beyonce was going to use the pre-recorded vocal track. Those were the instructions we were given. We don’t know what the reason why.”

If the claims are true, this definitely is NOT the first time that an artist lip-synced as they faced the blistering cold conditions of the outdoor Inaugurational ceremonies. Check out the performance and judge for yourself.
