The Baltimore City Council is considering cutting over $90 million in fire and police pensions in order to save the city money. This has made the fire and police unions threaten legal action. The City Council is pretty confident their plan will not be enacted the way it is currently written.

The current plan would delay retirement and alter the way increases in benefits are calculated. The city council members are working diligently to negotiate terms.
