Malcolm-Jamal Warner’s Child Was With Him Before Drowning
New heartbreaking details have emerged following the sudden death of actor Malcolm-Jamal Warner, who tragically drowned while vacationing in Costa Rica.
Warner, best known for his role as Theo Huxtable on The Cosby Show, was swimming at Playa Cocles on July 20 with his 8-year-old daughter when they were swept under the water by riptide currents.
According to officials and eyewitnesses, a surfer managed to rescue Warner’s daughter by pulling her to safety on a surfboard. Tragically, Warner was found unresponsive by a volunteer lifeguard shortly after. Despite nearly 45 minutes of CPR, he could not be revived. His death was ruled an accidental drowning due to asphyxiation by submersion.
Warner, 54, was known for keeping his personal life private, but often expressed love and admiration for his daughter on social media, calling her his “greatest joy”.
