Drake is making it crystal clear—he’s standing behind Tory Lanez.

This week, Drizzy took to his Instagram Story to share a petition calling for the California governor to pardon Lanez, who is currently serving a 10-year sentence for shooting Megan Thee Stallion back in 2020.

In the post, Drake linked directly to the petition and added, “@torylanez come home soon.”

This isn’t the first time the OVO boss has publicly supported his fellow Canadian. Even after the guilty verdict, Drake posted a photo of Lanez with a cryptic message that simply read, “3 you.” In his 2022 track “Circo Loco,” many believe he referenced the Megan incident with the line:

“This girl lied about getting shots, but she still a stallion / She don’t even get the joke, but she still smiling.”

Megan wasted no time firing back on social media, calling out rappers who used her trauma for clout.
“Stop using my shooting for clout, lame dudes! Since when is it cool to joke about women getting shot?” she wrote. “Rappers are ready to protest over sneakers and brands but disappear when it comes to protecting Black women.”

The “Houston Hottie” kept the same energy on her fiery single “HISS,” where she took aim without naming names but fans quickly connected the dots:

“Don’t speak on my body count if the experience wasn’t even worth seconds / Cosplay gangsters, fake accents…”

Meanwhile, Tory Lanez is recovering from a terrifying incident behind bars. Reports say he was stabbed 14 times by another inmate and suffered two collapsed lungs. He’s expected to make a full recovery.

The petition Drake shared continues to gain steam, but with so much emotion, history, and hurt behind this story—it’s clear the conversation is far from over.
