Two legends re-entered the ring for yet another fight in their long careers. Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr. took the canvas at the Staples Center in L.A for an exhibition event.
To be completely honest, I thoroughly enjoyed watching it. There is a small bit of concern for the potential that the entertainment aspect of boxing will eclipse the art of boxing. But, that’s a concern for just about everything in 2020. Nonetheless, the lights were bright at Staples Center and the stage was set for a historic night.
It was Mike Tyson’s first fight since retiring in 2006. Roy Jones Jr. has only been out of the ring for 3 years. Both men are in their early 50’s at 54 and 51, respectively. Their age was certainly on display as both men looked gassed but it played no distraction to the entertainment factor of it all.

Snoop Dogg Won, Though.
The west coast rapper and all-around legend, Snoop Dogg, was a guest commentator for the affair. Twitter erupted as “Uncle Snoop” brought his usual charismatic personality to the broadcast:
Petition to replace Michael Cole on commentary with Snoop Dogg.
