Sources close to Kanye West say that his 2013 Yeezus album was initially supposed to be named ‘Thank God For Drugs’.

Former DONDA Art Director Joe Perez shared the information while sharing old concepts and information on past projects on Instagram.

The image showed the concept photo of the album cover which looks pretty much the same as the Yeezus cover. The only change that was made was the addition of the ‘Thank God For Drugs’ album title written across the top.

For Yeezy fans, this behind-the-scenes view of one of Ye’s legendary albums provides a healthy dose of nostalgia. Kanye’s creative mind and team has always been intriguing from both music and arts perspectives.

Perez also revealed that Virgil Abloh led much of the creative direction for DONDA and some of the concepts that it released. Apparently, the initial tour to accompany the Yeezus album was supposed to be called the “Til Death Do Us Part’ tour.
