It’s no secret that Dr. Dre is one of the most influential talents in Hip Hop and now, he is being honored for just that. The legendary Recording Academy is planning to honor the innovative producer for his contributions to music.
Sources report that Dr. Dre will be honored by the Recording Academy on January 22nd 2020 in front of some of music’s most influential producers, artists, engineers and executives. This honor will kick off Grammy Week.
President/CEO of the Recording Academy, Deborah Dugan spoke about the event and Dre’s impact on music in a statement on the Recording Academy’s website, “Dr. Dre is an influential force in music. Dre breaks boundaries and inspires music creators across every genre. His evolution as a producer solidifies him as a leader of the pack within our industry, and we watch in amazement as he continues to shape the future of music.”
Grammy Week is arguably the biggest week for the music industry as music’s heavyweights are honored for their accomplishments. The 62nd Grammy Awards will be live on CBS on January 26th 2020 at 8PM.
