Some parents and relatives kiss their kids on the lips, but it’s not good for young babies according to health professionals. Earlier this year, an 18-day-old baby in Iowa died from meningitis. Doctors said the infant, Mariana Sifrit, developed the deadly infection after being exposed to the herpes virus—likely via a kiss from a well-meaning adult.
