The Mayor wants to develop a $2 million program to get ‘squeegee kids’ off Baltimore street corners.

“Earn while you Learn” will be a year-round program for 100 children.

The program will pay children a stipend while receiving financial literacy training, as well as lessons in how to develop a run a business.

“My goal is to get them off the corner,” said Mayor Pugh, during an interview Monday. “To engage them in productive activities and provide opportunities for them to make money and to work.”
