Damond Blue Shares How His Slain Best Friend Influenced His Music

This month, 92Q is celebrating Black Music Month with a series of exclusive videos dedicated to Baltimore artists. Tune in and watch all month (June 2016) as our hometown heroes sit down to talk about the art, culture and impact of black music, and how B’More played a part in their musical journey. Next up…

Damond Blue grew up in East Baltimore where he, like many youth, were exposed to the street life. After witnessing the death of a close friend, Blue decided to take his God given talent seriously. An accomplished singer and rapper, Blue deftly combines hip-hop and R&B to present the sound he’s coined “smooth trap.” His charismatic stage presence and welcoming energy are only a few of the traits that help him fill the void left by so many “sound alike” artists. Blue continues to hone his skills and put out great music as he heads toward stardom while still remembering his Baltimore roots.
