Chris Rock holds no punches when it comes to race politics.

The comedian was interviewed for a profile on Leslie Jones (‘Saturday Night Live’) in the New Yorker, where he made comments on the inequalities Black women face in Hollywood.

“Black women have the hardest gig in show business,” he said. “You hear Jennifer Lawrence complaining about getting paid less because she’s a woman – if she was black, she’d really have something to complain about.”

Lawrence has been vocal about gender inequality, particularly that women make less than their male counterparts.

“When the Sony hack happened and I found out how much less I was being paid than the lucky people with dicks, I didn’t get mad at Sony,” she wrote in an essay “Why Do I Make Less Than My Male Co-Stars.” “I got mad at myself. I failed as a negotiator because I gave up early. I didn’t want to keep fighting over millions of dollars that, frankly, due to two franchises, I don’t need.”

Rock and Lawrence both make valid points. Being a Black woman is hard.
