Actress/comedienne Mo’Nique is coming back to the screen years after her Best Supporting Actress Oscar win for her role in “Precious.” During the 2008-2009 award season, Hollywood execs labeled Mo’Nique as “difficult” to work with and “ungracious.” At this point, she struggled to land her next major move.
Now, Mo’Nique has signed on with HBO films to star in a movie about the life of blues singer, Bessie Smith. Queen Latifah and Scandal‘s Khandi Alexander are also set to star in the film.
