Kim Kardashian‘s longtime love and baby daddy Kanye West gave her the biggest surprise for her 33rd birthday when he rented out AT&T Park Stadium in San Francisco and proposed to her in front of their family and friends.
Kardashian gave birth to West’s daughter, North West, on June 15 and after receiving his future mother-in-law Kris Jenner‘s blessing, West got down on one knee and presented Kim with a 15-carat diamond ring by celebrity jeweler Lorraine Schwartz. A full orchestra began to play and a huge sign above the stadium flashed with the message, “PLEEEASE MARRY MEEE!!!”. As Kim said “YES,” fireworks and Roman candles exploded in the sky and all of their close family and friends who were secretly waiting in the stands ran out on the mound and congratulated the couple. It was a special affair as fireworks lit the sky over the home of the San Francisco Giants.
“Kanye was involved in every single way. He had a vision from the beginning. He looked at a lot of stones and he wanted only the best,” says a rep for jeweler Lorraine Schwartz. “He and Lorraine emailed back and forth, and stayed up nights discussing how he wanted it to be. He wanted the diamond to look like it was floating on air. Everything was his idea from beginning to end.”
The rep adds, “The ring is flawless. Not just internally flawless, it’s flawless. It’s a D-stone, the best diamond there is, type 2A. It’s a perfect cushion cut diamond.”
Kim’s sister Khloe immediately expressed her joy on Twitter: “Wow!!!!! Am I dreaming??!?! / Tears of JOY!!!!!!! Wow!!!!!!”
