Congrats to Winston Salem State !
Head coach Connell Maynors’ Rams showed the Buffalo of West Texas A&M what it means to be RAM Tuff with a 41 to 18 win in the Semi-Finals of the D-2 National Play-offs . Winston Salem State will now represent not only the CIAA; but all HBCUs as the 14-0 Red and Black face Valdosta State in the Championship game in Florence Alabama this Saturday .
Now despite being undefeated Winston-Salem State will truely be tested in their first trip to the ship. The 11-2 Blazers of Valdosta State are two time champions and will participate in the D-2 Title game for the fourth time .
So stand up HBCU Alum and fans! No matter which HBCU you’re attending or have attended, show some love and support to the Rams of Winston-Salem State as they continue to make history and try to put an exclamation point on this chapter with not only a Black College National Crown , but also a D-2 National Title !
Speaking of title games, Jackson State lost to Arkansas Pine-Bluff in the SWAC championship, 24 to 21 in overtime! Congrats to the Golden Lions of Arkansas Pine-Bluff , who won their second SWAC title in school history! I see you black and gold !
