Jennifer Hudson’s family murder trial began today in Chicago. In 2008, Jennifer’s mother, brother, and nephew was murdered in their Chicago home. William Balfour is accused of their murder.
The case opened with a bang, as prosecutors called on Jennifer Hudson first to testify in the trial. With her voice trembling and cracking, Jennifer testified that Balfour wasn’t good for her.
“None of us, myself, my mother, or my brother, we did not like how he treated her, and I didn’t like how he treated my nephew.”
Reports are saying that Jennifer Hudson began crying, and had to stop to compose herself.
She also opened up about the last time she had seen her family.
“It was my mother, my brother, my sister and my dog. I was so surprised. The whole family was here. That was the last time I saw them. Thank God I had the opportunity.”
Besides first degree murder, Balfour faces home invasion, aggravated kidnapping, residential burglary and possession of a stolen motor vehicle charges.
