Sometimes as a single mother, I get so busy juggling the career, school and everything else that needs my attention. But I neglect to give my 14 year old son the attention he deserves. I’m blessed to have a good kid that respects what I do and understand that although I’m busy handling so many things, he realizes that he is just as important if not more!

Parenting is a job and it’s hard to make it a priority. Guess who’s got tips?

Keep work and work related worries at the office exit. Your worries will be there tomorrow. Quitting time is exactly that, quitting time.

Spend time with your loved ones. Put their worries and fears first. Let them know that you love them. Show them your love by being attentive. Make sure that all of you is home when you are home. Don’t let yourself continually fret over what cannot be handled until tomorrow.

Show through example that you love your family and that every moment counts with them. Dance in the living room. Laugh out loud when something tickles you. Keep your family and their wishes closer than your work related stress. There is always tomorrow for work, but your family needs you today.
