Wale stopped by the 92Q studios while in town for Morgan University‘s homecoming. He chopped it up with Off The Hook‘s Porkchop and Squirrel about his highly anticipated album Ambition, dropping Nov. 1. “The Ambition album is HUGE for [the DMV]…This is our chance.”

Wale is so excited about the release of his upcoming project because he had more artistic freedom this go-round. His single “Pretty Girls” off the debut album Attention Deficit, released on Interscope, “…was not supported by the label. I had to put my own money behind the track. I had to come out my own pocket to get shots in DC.” He claimed he paid $10,000 of his own money to have dark-skinned women in the video. Wow, really?

He even shoutout Baltimore’s Los as being the next mainstream artist to make it big out of Baltimore. “There are lots of talented people in Baltimore,” Wale proclaims.

Find out more about Ambition‘s upcoming release, collaborations with various producers including J. Cole and where he places himself in the realm of hip hop greatness.
