Students Allegedly Shackled to Poles For Hours in Mississippi

Civil Rights activists filed a lawsuit against the public school district in Jackson, Mississippi after stirring allegations came to light. An alternative school in the district allegedly shackled its students to poles and railings for hours at a time for minor violations.
The lawsuit states that these punishments violate the Constitution and the policy of the school board.
