Legendary actress Elizabeth Taylor, who died today at the age 79, was an extremely close friend of the late Michael Jackson.  Their friendship spanned decades and she was one of Jackson’s most ardent supporters during the last years of his life.

Their strong bond was due, largely in part, to the fact that they were both child stars who felt like they missed out on their childhoods.

In 1997, Jackson composed and performed a tribute to his dear friend at her 65th birthday celebration, entitled “Elizabeth, I Love You,” explicitly mentioning Taylor’s lost youth.
