Nicki Minaj and Jay-Z, who was not present at the show, dominated this weekend’s 2010 BET Hip Hop Awards with three wins each. “Last year, I was here in anticipation of the cypher,” Nicki told the audience. “Now I am here in anticipation of my debut.” Her album Pink Friday is set for release on November 23. “I’m paving the way for girls. I want to thank all the girls of hip hop.”

Mike Epps hosted the event and reviews on his performance were favorable.

Rick Ross welcomed the legendary MC Hammer onstage as he performed his single “MC Hammer” and reports say the crowd went crazy. Ricky Rozay took home two awards.

Other performances included Cam’ron, Juelz Santana, Jim Jones, Big Boi, Soula Boy Tell’em, J. Cole, Gucci, Wacka and B.o.B.

BET honored Salt-N-Pepa with the I Am Hip Hop Award.
