Two Georgia men have filed suit against megachurch Bishop  Eddie Long, of Atlanta, alleging coercion into sexual favors that occurred over several years. The men, Maurice Robinson and Anthony Flagg, were members and employees of Long’s New Birth Missionary Baptist Church and allege that they were given lavish trips overseas, vehicles, money and electronics. The attorney of the defendants claim that there is overwhelming evidence to substantiate the claims. Bishop Long’s camp has denied the claims.

It is no secret that Bishop Long has publicly denounced homosexual behavior in the past. In June, Robinson was arrested and confessed to breaking into the church and stealing cash and electronics from Long’s office. Robinson claims that his actions were in retaliation of Bishop Long pursuing sexual relationships with other men.

Flagg’s suit also says that Long presided over a spiritual “covenant” ceremony between the two of them.

The lawsuits are speaking unspecified amounts of punitive damages on various counts, ranging from negligence to breach of fiduciary duty.
