Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake was admitted to the University of Maryland Medical Center in the pre-dawn hours Thursday morning after complaining of numbness and chest pain, according to her office.

Rawlings-Blake is still at the downtown hospital where she is under observation. Rawlings-Blake, just a month after being sworn in as mayor, awoke at about 3 a.m. and was driven to Sinai Hospital by her husband, Kent Blake, according to her office.

She was then taken to UMMC for testing and observation by her personal physician and is said to be “resting comfortably.” (Baltimore Business Journal)
