Rolly Romero is no longer the WBA welterweight champion after Teofimo Lopez defeated him by majority decision Saturday night at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Lopez controlled much of the 12-round fight with his jab, movement, and consistent offense, earning scorecards of 116-112 and 115-113, while one judge scored it a 114-114 draw. Romero had his moments, including hurting Lopez in the fifth round, but he struggled to maintain the momentum. With the win, Lopez becomes a three-division world champion and takes the WBA welterweight title from Romero.
