A seven-foot bronze statue honoring the late Tina Turner will soon grace Brownsville, Tennessee, thanks to a $150,000 donation from Ford Motor Company. The statue, funded through Ford’s “Good Neighbor Plan,” will be installed at Heritage Park, steps from the historic Carver High School where Turner attended both school and basketball practice.

Known as the “Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll,” Turner rose from humble beginnings in Nutbush to become one of the best-selling female artists ever. Her career spanned iconic hits like “Proud Mary,” “What’s Love Got to Do With It,” and numerous awards including eight Grammys. Turner’s raw vocal power and electrifying performances trail-blazed paths for artists across all genre lines. She passed away in May 2023, leaving an enduring legacy as a global musical icon.

Sculpted by Fred Ajanogha, the statue’s unveiling is scheduled for September 27, 2025 during the annual Tina Turner Heritage Days festival.
