R&B singer Jaheim Hoagland, known by his stage name as Jaheim, was arrested in Fulton County, Georgia on six counts of animal cruelty.

The incident is not Jaheim’s first run-in with the law regarding his treatment of animals. In September 2021, he was arrested in New Jersey after authorities discovered 15 dogs living in deplorable conditions at his home. One of the dogs in that case had to be euthanized.

Jaheim was released one day after his most recent arrest and is scheduled to appear in court Monday, June 2 for a plea hearing.

Jaheim first gained fame with his 2001 debut album Ghetto Love, which included the hit single, “Put That Woman First.” He continued to build a successful career with subsequent albums and received three Grammy nominations.

As of now, Jaheim has not made a public statement regarding the current charges.
