Tory Lanez To Drop New Album On Friday
Fully recorded from behind bars, fans can expect a new album from rapper Tory Lanez this Friday.
Making the announcement with an Instagram post of the project’s cover art earlier this week, the Toronto native revealed the name of the album, Peterson, which is his last name, and that it’s a sequel to his 2020 album, Daystar.
The cover art depicts a muscled Tory in a jail cell with his shirt off, and the rapper captioned the post saying, “This COMEBACK is PERSONAL.”
Tory has described the new project as “the first-ever in real-time prison album. An album that’s recorded in prison, for prisoners, by a prisoner in real time as a prisoner going through his real-time sentence. And it’s professional. It’s going to sound exactly like a Tory Lanez album.” He went on to say, “… The pain is there, the hunger is there. You know the tears, the cries are there. It’s a lot of emotion into it … This has never been done before.”
According to reports, Tory previously had his recording equipment seized by prison guards during a raid on his cell, as recording devices are strictly forbidden.
