Third Case Of Bird Flu Reported In Maryland

A third case of the Bird Flu has been reported in Maryland. The Maryland Department of Agriculture reported that a flock of chickens at another farm tested positive for Bird Flu, near a Caroline County farm where the first case of Bird Flu was reported on January 10. Department officials said the impacted area has since been quarantined and the infected birds will be depopulated to prevent the spread of Bird Flu. In addition is has been reported that he infected flock will not enter the food system. CDC data shows there have been 67 human cases and one death reported in the U.S. as of 2024.
