#2 Bowie State University Football team is tired of being overlooked and not talked about. So they are making the statement count for themselves these year on the field. Not only did they dominate the CIAA Conference for the third consecutive year as Northern Divisional Champions and CIAA Champions.

According to The CIAA, “For the first time in school history, the Bowie State football team will advance to the NCAA DII Football Playoffs Quarterfinals.”

Now they are taking on higher level competition varying across the country in the DII NCAA Playoffs. Round one they defeated Lenoir-Rhyne College 31-10 to advance to the second round of playoffs. Today round two commenced leading the #2 Bulldogs towards their toughest challenge all season long against Newberry College from South Carolina. The bulldogs defeated Newberry 13-10 in a fourth quarter stunner.

Both games were played with home field advantage at Bulldog Stadium. The Bulldogs (12-1) will now face the No. 1 seed Valdosta State (10-1) for the Super Region 2 title game on Dec. 4 in Valdosta, Ga., at the Bazemore-Hyder Stadium. Game time is slated for 1 p.m.

Good luck to Bowie State University and represent the State of Maryland proudly!
