It is unfathomable that this was really a thing for 55 years. However, according to NBCNews, “The NFL on Wednesday pledged to halt the use of “race-norming” — which assumed Black players started out with lower cognitive function in the $1 billion settlement of brain injury claims and review past scores for any potential race bias.” Wednesday’s (June 2) announcement comes after a few African-American players filed a civil rights lawsuit over the practice, medical experts raised concerns and a group of NFL families last month. The lawsuit dropped 50,000 petitions at the federal courthouse in Philadelphia — where the lawsuit had been thrown out by the judge overseeing the settlement.

As we all know there is not one Black/African-American NFL Majority Owner. With that this is deemed publicly as a “legal slave-trade” often times but the public. With the league being predominately 83% Black players, it comes as no surprise that this was a thing. However, with all the social-injustice campaigns that the league have started, let’s see how much more actionable items will take place beyond this settlement. This includes the acknowledgment of Colin Kaepernick overall.
