With it being Graduation season there is no better Graduation than an HBCU Graduation! Recently, at Elizabeth City State University — a small state-funded HBCU known for its educational program located in Elizabeth City, N.C. — they had their 172nd Commencement Ceremony; and this one was one for the books.
Graduating senior and now alumnus Jaylen Mekayle received her Degree from the Chancellor and proceeded to “pick em up and put em down” better known as the “church shout” as she walked across the stage. Knowing how much the graduating class of 2021 across the world have been faced with unprecedented times and persevered towards the end goal of graduating.
