Jabari Lyles Urban One and NISSAN Celebrate LGBTQ History Month

Jabari Lyles is an educator, community organizer and consultant with over 15 years of experience leading initiatives which emphasize his passions for people, education and justice. Currently, Jabari is the Director of LGBTQ Affairs at the Office of the Mayor in Baltimore City, where he supports and advises Mayor Bernard C. “Jack” Young and local government on the needs of the LGBTQ community, while working to grow the community’s capacity and visibility.

Jabari is the former executive director of local LGBTQ organizations such as GLSEN Maryland and The Pride Center of Maryland, chairperson of Baltimore Pride, and a former elementary and middle school teacher. He is a seasoned trainer, facilitator and speaker, and participates on a number of workgroups, boards and coalitions working towards gender, racial and sexual justice for Black people, transgender people and LGBTQ youth.

Jabari is a Maryland native and currently lives in the Pigtown neighborhood of Baltimore City.
