50 Cent promises that Pop Smoke’s mother will have an active award season.

After Pop Smoke was murdered in Los Angeles, 50 Cent announced that he would step in to finish his music. “Smoke” was cultivating a new sound that was quickly becoming a trend. The speedy hi-hats and obtuse drum patterns quickly caught on in the industry.

Before he was gunned down, Pop Smoke had said that he wanted to get his mother to award shows and 50 Cent pledges to make that happen.

He shared his ambitions in an Instagram post over the weekend. While sharing a video of Pop Smoke’s funeral processional 50 Cent captioned, “R.I.P Pop Smoke 🕊. Told his mom he wanted to take her to a award show. So I’m gonna make sure his album gets her there.”

50 Cent reached out to industry heavyweights like Drake, Roddy Ricch, and others to help with the album. Roddy already responded and offered his participation. Wishing Pop Smoke’s family, friends, and fans the absolute best. Carrying on Pop’s legacy through his music would be what he would want.
