Today’s “stay in your lane” lesson comes courtesy of this clueless weather woman. Yes, Weather Channel meteorologist Jen Delgado just blamed Haiti’s deforestation on hungry children who eat all of the trees.
Delgado was reporting on Hurricane Matthew on Monday when she suddenly decided to educate the public about Haitian agriculture. Displaying a NASA image of Haiti and the Dominican Republic on the Weather Channel, she pointed out the clear lack of greenery in Haiti:
“This whole area has been essentially deforested. They take all the trees down. They burn the trees. Even the kids there, they’re so hungry, they actually eat the trees.”
As you can imagine, Twitter went in.

It got so bad, the Weather Channel CEO had to issue an apology.
“We are terribly sorry for an on air error and are taking measures to correct it,” David Clark wrote. “It should not have happened period.”
