BET 106 & Park Presents Rick Ross, Marques Houston & Derek Luke

Does Wu-Tang Clan have another great project under its belt?

Last year, the legendary hip-hop crew sold an exclusive album to indicted pharmaceutical executive Martin Shkreli for millions of dollars. Fans without that kind of money will be happy to know more music is on the way, according to Ghostface Killah.

The 46-year-old rapper sat down with HipHopDX and said he’s been green-lit as the lead on their next album. He told the site, “RZA put the ball in my hand. He said ‘Yo, I want you to do it,’ and I been wanting to do it, and that’s a big test for me right there.”

Needless to say, the music on their forthcoming project has to be just right: “You got to always go back to the foundation,” he said. “It’s not what you do, it’s how you do it. But it has to be done right. If it don’t fit then we can’t do it. It’ll just have to be done nice. That’s it. People can’t talk about it unless it’s good.”

And as far as his strategy and the kind of rap he wants to record, “I’m going to do my part first and let them know what I did, and then have them listen to that and follow my lead,” he explained. “It’s like how they do in sports with athletes. It’s like alright, just follow my lead.” He goes on to say, “Everything is so clubby nowadays. Big bass. Easy words. Ain’t nothing really being said.” Ghost did add that he’s a fan of Drake.
