Head Start Lead Teacher (Umoja Head Start)
The lead teacher must: develop written individualized education plans, written weekly lesson plans, be responsible for ongoing observations, assessments and recording of each child’s behavior; plan regular parent conferences and make home visits, develop rapport with parents and fellow coworkers, provide activities and experiences which encourage questioning, probing and problem-solving skills appropriate to developmental level and learning style of the children; help children to acquire and use language as a means of communicating their thoughts, feelings and their creative ability, and organize and serve as a primary resources person for class committee meetings.
Minimum requirements:
BS in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or a BS in related field of study, with coursework relating to early childhood education.
