The stabbing occurred at the DSS on East Biddle Street yesterday. When officers arrived they found the 8 months old, with multiple stab wounds to the chest and neck.
The baby’s mom was visiting with a social worker at the DSS office. At some point during the visit, the mother pulled out a long kitchen knife and began stabbing the baby.

Vonnie Fatz Long Its never good to see this happened, but as strong as we wish ppl were, these times are mentally breaking a lot of them down causing situations like this.

Nikki Stanley I have three kids myself 7,5 and 5months yes they do pluck my nerves but never to the point that i would snap and take their life. Just rememeber takin their life is like takin yours when its all said and done. My prayers go out to the family.
Eryn Brown When I first heard it I was mad,sick then I got to thinking where was the support for her due to the fact the baby was taken for a reason. Praying for the healing of the baby and help for the mom. Mixed emotions right now!

Anita Ballenger I was angry if she was this upset she could have cut her visit or gave the baby to the worker also she should have figured out what was the reason that resulted her from being there in the beginning obvious she wasn’t’ doing what she needed to be doing in the Frist place.
Toria Hill …….a lady stabs her 8 month old baby at the department of social services. Nobody in their RIGHT MIND would do something like that!! MENTAL ILLNESS is sooooooooooooooo REAL, and often UNnoticed, UNdiagnosed, and UNtreated. We don’t know her story, We do KNOW she needs some help……….#who cares about why Social Services doesn’t have a better metal detector!
Adrienne Montrè They need to throw her ass under the jail forever. Smfh there are so many ppl who can’t have children & then we have ppl like this who try to kill their child. Nothing is EVER that serious for you to harm/attempt to kill your child, the child is innocent she didn’t ask to be born, she could’ve gave the baby away to social worker or had an adoption when baby born if she couldn’t take care of it-there’s always an alternative.
Maileka Flippen GM ….where was the social worker in charge of the case??? If the child was taken from her HOW does she get to pop in and not be searched …or at least supervised the entire time….she is crazy and the system sucks.
Nikasha Vinson The margin of sane to insanity is not that far apart. Any trauma or invent can set any of us insane. There was a reason why she did not have her child and maybe that’s the reason why. Mental issues has got to have played apart in this. Sad situation all the way around. Sidebar: Watch who u have kids by. U never know their mental state.
