Born Shad Gregory Moss, Bow wow has established himself as a well known rapper and actor, Today we help celebrate the entertainers birthday.
Introducing himself originally as Lil’ Bow Wow, he released his first album in 2000 at the age of 13 entitled Beware of the Dog. Hailing from Columbus, Ohio Bow Wow gained numerous amounts of recognition after being linked to N.W.A. rapper Snoop Dogg. His career began to take shape after he began to partner up with hit making producer Jermaine Dupri. The partnership brought the rapper numerous hits such as, “Bounce With Me,” “Puppy Love,” “Take Ya Home,” “My Baby,” and “Fresh Azimiz” featuring J-Kwon and Jermain Dupri.
Bow Wow released a total of six studio album; including Doggy Bag, Unleashed, Wanted, The Prince of Fame, and New Jack City Part II. The rapper is known for his name change to Bow Wow in 2002 and his list of collaborations. He has done a duo album with B2k frontrunner Omarion entitled Face Off and has collarborated with Ciara, Jagged Edge, Birdman, Johnta Austin, and Lil Wayne.
Bow Wow has held a prominent career in acting as well. He made his first appreance in Brandy’s TV sitcom, Moesha, as well as The Steve Harvey Show, Smallville, and Entourage. He had his major acting debut in the film Like Mike released in June of 2012. He did several cameos in All About the Benjamins, “Carmen: A Hip Hopera,” Roll Bounce, The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, and Johnson Family Vacation. He starred in the 2010 comedy Lottery Ticket alongside Ice Cube and the April 2011 film Madea’s Big Happy Family alongside Teyana Taylor and Tyler Perry.
He has been nominated for over 10 awards. One of them being BET‘s 2001 Viewers Choice Award for “Bow Wow (That’s My Name)” in which he did win.
Bow Wow signed to Cash Money Records in 2009 and plans to release his seventh studio album Underrated sometine this year. The album is said to feature the likes of Birdman, Lil Wayne, Boyz I Men, Chris Brown, DJ Khaled, Fabolous, Game, Nicki Minaj, and many more.
