Before there was a TRL on MTV, or a 106 & Park, there was Soul Train. Every Saturday since the early 70’s you would be able to catch Don Cornelius (until he left the show as the host in 1993) hosting the daytime music show. Soultrain provided the platform for African Americans to promote their music.

From the famous Soul Train to the Scramble Board-those were just some of the classics moments in Soul Train history. In his honor, hours after Don Cornelius death was confirmed, 92Q and it’s Radio One family hosted the BIGGEST & longest Soul Train line, in his honor. Listeners of the stations met in Woodlawn at 6pm and danced to some of the biggest songs of the soul train era.
