A chicken box is as synonymous to Baltimore as cheesesteaks are to Philly. I ordered a chicken box and a half and half at a neighborhood carryout while in Boston and the cashier looked at me like I was crazy. If you head up 83 North, they are called wing dings and are normally served with a side of ranch dressing. Stop by any Baltimore carryout on the corner of a city street to order a chicken box. What is the next question you’re going to be asked? “Regular fries, western fries or rice?” Then you’re going to be asked “what do you want on it?” Personally I like salt, pepper and ketchup. And what cool refreshing drink perfectly accompanies your entree selection? A half and half. Yes!
