Tyler Perry portrays the wisecracking, no-nonsense grandmother Mabel “Madea” Simmons in the upcoming Madea’s Big Happy Family, but this weekend, Perry made another grandmother’s family very happy after he handed over the keys to a brand new house.
88-year-old Rosa Lee Ransbury’s home burned down just one week before Christmas in 2010. The news of the fire reached Perry, who decided to have the house rebuilt. Perry also completely furnished the house.
Ransby, who lives in rural Coweta County, GA with her seven grandchildren and great-grandchildren, met with Perry and more than twenty of her family members on Friday outside of the four-bedroom, 2,500 square foot home, where Perry gave them a tour of the house.
