According to a report in the New York Times, Family Guy spin-off The Cleveland Show has been picked up for a third season by Fox.

Upon divorcing his wife Loretta the only Black character on Family Guy was given his own show in the settlement. (Not really but it almost seemed that way.) Upon leaving Quahog, Rhode Island Cleveland moves to  Stoolbend, Virginia quickly remarries and becomes a stepfather.

In it’s first season The Cleveland Show has been a moderate success despite a lukewarm reception from critics. It  debuted respectably with 9.4 million people tuning in and was nominated for Best New TV Comedy at the 36th People’s Choice Awards.

Cleveland has had to contend with everything from a jealous stepson hording in on his intimate time to finding out his father is in love with a cross-dressing man. But he seems to take it all in stride.

Season 2 of the series, which is just now wrapping up production, will feature a roster of stars that includes Justin Timberlake, will.i.am and T-Pain.

“Musicians love to do our show, for some reason,” says Mike Henry, the show’s co-creator and voice of Cleveland. “It’s such an easy gig that everybody wants to do it.” Kanye West made a guest appearance as a rapper who battles Cleveland, Jr.
